HIGHWAY 82 CLEANUP, TAKE 3:

For obvious reasons, we had to cancel our semiannual Highway 82 cleanup on April 20.  However, weather permitting, we will (attempt to) hold it on Wednesday, April 27, beginning at 9:00.  We are nothing, if not bullheaded.  And by “bullhead” I’m referring to catfish, not cows.

Meet at Dos Hermanos.  For you newbies, Dos Hermanos is the derelict old restaurant on the west side of Highway 82 south of the CMC turnoff (and south of the Habitat ReStore).  Bring hat, work gloves, sunscreen, and water.  Wear long pants and long sleeves and shoes with lug soles (the grass embankments can be rather slick).

Typically, we should be done between 11:00 and noon, depending upon turnout.  “Many hands make light work” as they say.  Afterward, we can socialize over coffee, juice and pastries…always a fun time.  And hikers receive 2 miles credit…only 398 to go for that coveted 400-mile pin.

Be sure to check your email BEFORE you head out in case of a(nother) cancellation.

Thanks in advance,
The Cat Herd
